About us
Gospel connections to the struggles common to man.
Soul Care Academy exists because most of what is offered to a struggling person is either information or accountability, and neither one changes a heart. Information leaves you knowing more and doing the same. Accountability, on its own, is a fence — useful, and not the same thing as a new desire.
So every academy here is built on the same shape: worship reordered at the level of desire, practiced daily over a long period of time, in the company of other people who know what you are working on.
The subjects change — anxiety, grief, a marriage nine years into the same argument, a year-long fight for purity. The shape does not.
That shape is why our programs run in months and years rather than sessions, and why almost all of them put you next to somebody else. A book read alone changes very little. The same book read with four other couples, over four months, with a meal in the middle of it, is a different thing entirely.
What we are, and what we are not.
- We are discipleship
- Our programs are Christian discipleship built on Scripture, run by a ministry. They are not licensed counseling, therapy, or medical care, and we do not present them as such.
- We are not a crisis service
- We cannot provide emergency help. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or dial 911. Please do that first, and come back to us afterwards.
- We work in company
- Almost everything here puts you beside other people — a spouse, a few friends, a room of couples. That is the point, not a delivery mechanism.
- We keep what you write private
- Where a program asks you to write something down, we tell you plainly who can see it before you type. In Marriage Academy, your answers are visible to your spouse and to nobody else in the group.
Who runs it.
Soul Care Academy is a ministry of 2Remain1 Ministries, based in Scottsdale, AZ. We would rather the work be judged by whether it helps a marriage than by whose name is on it.
If you want to know more before you begin, write to us — a person reads every message.
