Text messages

Soul Care Academy uses two separate phone numbers to send text messages for two different purposes:

• Sign-in codes: One-time codes sent from our sign-in number when you request a text to access your account.
• Group reminders: Optional reminders sent from a separate reminder number about your Marriage Academy group’s meetings and monthly assignments.

Each program is sent from its own number and is agreed to separately. Agreeing to one does not sign you up for another, and stopping one does not stop the others. That is deliberate: replying STOP to reminders should never lock you out of your own account by stopping your sign-in codes. Below is exactly what each program sends and the wording you agree to before we send anything.

Sign-in codes

A one-time passcode when you sign in to your Soul Care Academy account. Sent only when you ask for one.

How often: Only when you sign in.

Group reminders

Reminders about your small group's meeting dates and monthly assignments, for members who have joined a group.

How often: Up to about four messages a month while your group is running: a note the morning after a meeting that the next month is open, one nudge if the month's work is unfinished, one three days before each meeting, and one on the morning of each meeting. When you join, one welcome message.

Group-reminder consent

Group reminders are optional. You may choose whether to receive them, and declining consent does not prevent you from purchasing or participating in Marriage Academy. Providing your phone number for account access does not automatically enroll you in group reminders.

If you opt in, you may receive up to four group-reminder text messages per month while your group is running. These may include a note that a new month is open, a reminder about unfinished monthly work, a reminder three days before each meeting, and a meeting-day reminder, plus one welcome message when you join. Actual frequency depends on your group’s schedule and activity. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping text messages

You can stop group reminders at any time by replying STOP to a message sent from our group-reminder number. This opt-out applies to group reminders sent from that number; it does not automatically stop one-time sign-in codes sent from our separate sign-in number.

If you opt out of group reminders, you can still receive sign-in codes when you request them. You can also access your account using email sign-in.

To stop a particular type of message, use the opt-out instructions provided for that messaging program or contact support@soulcareacademy.com. We will process opt-out requests in accordance with applicable law. If you need help, reply HELP where available or email support@soulcareacademy.com.

Numbers we will not text

We send only to a number that has completed one-time-code verification at sign-in, so every recipient has both agreed and proved the handset is theirs. A number that one person gives us about another — a spouse’s, or a supporter’s — is never messaged. Where someone needs to be invited to take part alongside you, we invite them by email instead.

Costs

We never charge for text messages. Message and data rates from your own carrier may apply. Message frequency varies.

Privacy

We use your phone number for the messaging purposes described above. Consent to receive group reminders is separate from the use of your number to send sign-in codes. We do not use this consent to enroll you in promotional text messaging, and we do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your SMS opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
